Hampton Roads Academy is pleased to announce tuition rates for Academic Year 2015-2016. Hampton Roads Academy tuition is reviewed and updated annually, and rates are published in the spring of each year. Tuition and fees for Academic Year 2016-2017 are as follows:
Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten  $9,600
Lower School (1-4)   $10,490
Middle School (5) $12,590
Middle School (6-8)   $16,375
Upper School (9-12)    $17,790
Yearly Activity Fee (Pre-K-12) $350
Matriculation fee (one time for new students)  $850

Application Fee
$75 must accompany the Parent Application before subsequent steps in the application process (non-refundable).

Enrollment / Re-enrollment Deposit for Academic Year 2016 - 2017
A tuition deposit is required in order to ensure a place in that class for your student(s). This fee is due in January (for early decision acceptances) or with signed enrollment contract (for rolling admission and returning students.)
Lower School PK-K             $875
Lower School Grade 1- 4     $900
Middle School Grade 5        $1,150
Middle School Grades 6-8    $1,550
Upper School Grades 9-12   $1,650
Morning and afternoon bus service to Williamsburg, Smithfield/Suffolk and Gloucester/Yorktown is available for a fee. Please call the HRA Business Office at 757-884-9153 for current rates and availability.
Lower School (Grades PK-4) and Middle School (Grade 5) book fee is $325. Middle (Grades 6-8) and Upper School books are purchased independently by parents.
Charges are nominal and may include a gym suit, sneakers, combination lock, etc. depending on sport and team.
Lower and Middle School uniforms are purchased independently by parents.
Tuition Refund Plan
The Tuition Refund Plan is an optional plan for all students who pay their students who pay their tuition by July 1. It provides peace of mind in the event a student has to leave the school for personal or medical reasons during the school year. This plan is mandatory for all students who enroll in either the HRA Two Pay Tuition Plan or the monthly payment plan offered through Smart Tuition. Tuition Financing / Payment Plan
Tuition may be financed through Smart Tuition. The plan charges a $80 enrollment fee. The various payment plans are interest-free. Depending on the plan selected, payments can begin May 1 and end April 1 of each academic year. Please call the HRA Business Office, 757-884-9153, to discuss payment plans and request a registration form.
