Athletic Hall of Fame

The Hampton Roads Academy Athletic Hall of Fame award was established in 2015 to recognize an individual or individuals from HRA whose accomplishments have brought pride and distinction to HRA athletics. It should serve to inspire our current students to achieve greatness in athletics while embodying the HRA core values.

Athletes and teams are eligible for nomination 10 years after they have graduated from HRA. Current coaches and administrators are eligible after direct affiliation with the athletic program has ended. Exceptions may be made by unanimous vote by the selection committee.

Nominate an HRA Athlete, Coach or Team

Nominations will be accepted for any individual(s) who, through their extraordinary achievement, commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to our athletic program has brought pride and distinction to our school and our community. This would include accomplishments, statistical records, number and stature of awards received, successes in life after graduation including service to HRA and our athletic program, prominence in the community, recognition of the friend/administrator/supporter’s devotion and dedication to HRA athletics.
Nominations can be made online here or by downloading a nomination form here  and sending completed information to:

Selection and Recognition Process

The HRA Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee reads and reviews the submitted nominations and vote for induction into the HRA Athletic Hall of Fame.
Winners are announced at a biennial Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Breakfast during Homecoming Weekend. Recipients receive a framed recognition plaque to take home and a second plaque is permanently installed in a designated area in Alumni Hall.
