Long-Range Plan for Parents Association

Approved by the Parents Association Board on February 9, 2005

Parents Association Objectives:

Increase the “family/community” atmosphere by sponsoring school community activities.

Promote school spirit as well as offer social alternatives by sponsoring student social activities.

Promote community service by having parent representatives work with staff to organize student and parent based service projects.

Promote wellness throughout our school community and the community at large by sponsoring appropriate educational programs.

Maintain a sound financial base by conducting fundraisers that will support programs and activities.

Facilitate communication between the board and the HRA administration.

Work with the Development Office and the Admissions Director to ensure the Parent Relations Committee is meeting the needs of new families to the HRA community.

Expand our volunteer participation level by determining and utilizing our parents’ areas of expertise and experience.

Investigate the establishment of a parents’ resource section in the library with materials focusing on child development, study skills, and crisis management.

Establish and maintain committee notebooks that will ensure smooth annual transitions.

Continue to develop and update the Parents Association pages on the HRA website as a parent communication tool.
