The Tayloe Enrichment Award

Tayloe Enrichment Award

Hal Tayloe (1946-2000) established an endowment fund to encourage students to engage in independent learning experiences in the areas of their interest. In his own words, Hal stated, "I want to give students the opportunity to discover themselves through their active participation in their dreams through the establishment of this fund, perhaps I can help this happen for a few students." Little did Hal realize when he began teaching at HRA in 1979 that he had found a new home.  His impact on his students, their families and the programs here will long be remembered.  It will be reflected in the special programs from his community service leadership to the 9th grade river trip.  He will be remembered each year as students benefit from the award.  Of course, Hal's real legacy will be seen in the faces of the many students he taught over more than 20 years. The Tayloe Enrichment Award is given annually to an HRA student and is funded by The Tayloe Enrichment Endowment Fund.
