To celebrate HRA’s birthday and the school’s Founders’ Day event, Lower School students wrote what they love or value about HRA on yellow and blue squares.
The squares spell out a large “HRA” and are on display in the Lower School hallway. Teachers, friends, learning, field trips and the playground are just a few things Hampton Roads Academy’s Lower School students love about HRA. Students and teachers in PK through grade 4 responses were fun, thoughtful and simple. “I love HRA because I get to learn new things and I like being with my friends.” “I like HRA because I do Math and the teachers rock.” “I value HRA because…I am a new girls at this school and honestly I was a little nervous but, after the past year I made new friends, a wonderful teacher, learned interesting things and I was determined to get a good education. I don’t know what I was so worried about!” “Happy Birthday HRA! HRA is great because you teach me good things!” “HRA is a great school because I get to be me! It’s for everyone.”
