HRA Senior Colby Motley Officially Commits to VCU's College Baseball Program

Hampton Roads Academy is proud to announce that Colby Motley ’24 has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) and officially committed to playing baseball for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
Colby, a dedicated member of the HRA Varsity Baseball team from 10th to 12th grade, has not only showcased exceptional athletic prowess but has also emerged as a true leader both on and off the field.

Colby's journey with the HRA Varsity Baseball team has been marked by outstanding achievements. As a Co-Captain during his junior year, he demonstrated exemplary leadership, a role he will continue to fulfill during his senior year. Colby's impact on the team extends beyond his leadership role – he has consistently been the leading hitter in both batting average and power numbers since joining the team.

A returning All-Conference player, Colby's commitment to excellence is evident in his dedication to the sport. Over the course of his three years at HRA, he has matured significantly, evolving into a model Captain and teammate. His willingness to share his knowledge with younger players, offering guidance on both offensive and defensive play, reflects his commitment to the team's success.

Colby's work ethic extends beyond the baseball diamond. He has diligently prepared his body and honed his skills, ensuring he enters college with a level of readiness that surpasses the typical freshman.
