BackgroundThe Wythe W. & Mary Holt Endowment was established by Mary A. Holt upon her passing. The late Wythe and Mary Holt had a long history with Hampton Roads Academy. Wythe was one of HRA’s founders and they sent their children and grandchildren to HRA. Through this endowment and annual award, the Holt family legacy will continue to have a positive impact on faculty and students for generations to come. The purpose of the endowment is to “expressly and exclusively provide for annual award(s) above and beyond normal faculty compensation to one or more members of the teaching faculty.”
