"On ne voit qu'avec le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
Antoine de Saint Exupery
My love of French inspired me to earn a teaching certificate in French from Montclair State University after overseas studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. I enjoy dual French American citizenship, thanks to my husband Patrick who is also a dual citizen. We travel to France each year to our apartment located in the small town of Luchon, tucked in the Pyrenees.
I have taught French for fifteen years at Hampton Roads Academy.. In the past, I have taught all levels of French but now teach levels three, four and advanced placement French language. I am passionée about teaching French!
On a personal note, we have two children, Lauren and Erin (whom I taught for five years while at HRA). Lauren graduated in 1998. She recently married and is a lawyer in Dallas, Texas. Erin graduated HRA in 2001. She begins her first year teaching at Charlottesville Country Day School with a masters in education from the Curry School at the Univeristy of Virginia.
In addition to teaching French, I am the senior class advisor along with Susan Jones. In recent years I have enjoyed being part of the college counseling team.
