4th Graders Celebrate Native American Heritage Month

Fourth grade teamed up with Mrs. Massengill (Lower School science resource teacher) in order to celebrate Native American Heritage Month through the legend of the Three Sisters.
The fourth grade classes engaged in a cross curricular study of the “Three Sisters” – winter squash, maize and climbing beans – crops which were essential to the indigenous people of North America.  The activities challenged students’ math, technology, and language arts skills.  Students will also learn about the first Thanksgiving as everyone shares a little of what they have created for our celebration feast.  Who said learning can’t be fun?
