It is the philosophy of the fine art departments that the arts enrich the lives of our students promoting discipline and critical thinking. Students who participate in the arts programs not only gain valuable insight into themselves, but they learn to see and make connections with their surroundings in new ways.
All students at Hampton Roads Academy are enthusiastically encouraged to pursue their studies of the arts. Artistic work develops challenges and strengthens us all. In the fine arts, excellence is recognized; however, effort, creativity and originality are considered equal components of achievement. All students possess the potential to be enriched and excel in their studies of the arts through personalized instruction and encouragement.
