HRA’s Cyber Cafe

HRA’s 13th annual Cyber Cafe is a forum hosted by HRA guidance department, technology department and Parents’ Association.
Cyber Cafe addresses the role of technology in our lives and the lives of our children. Parents of students in grades PreK 3 through 12 are encouraged to attend. Past topics have covered social networking, the addictive nature of screens, apps and devices, online safety, developmentally appropriate use of technology and tools and resources for monitoring use.

This year we will host a special guest speaker, Heather Engel with global security firm Sera-Brynn. She will discuss the 10 things parents need to know about cybersecurity, highlighting how everything happens online - work, shopping, socializing, event planning - and kids are online earlier and more than ever.

Join us for “10 Things Parents Need to Know About Cybersecurity” on Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 8:15-9:15 a.m. in HRA’s Lecture Hall. This presentation will cover cybersecurity basics, what you need to know to keep your kids safe online, and what really happens when your accounts get hacked.
