Two Seniors Selected as Commended Students of the National Merit Scholarship Program
The National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships, selected two Hampton Roads Academy seniors as Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program: Addison-Parker E.J. Davis and Carter Alexander Patten.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
“The National Merit Scholarship program is well known for recognizing top students throughout the country,” said HRA Head of School Peter W. Mertz. “The number of HRA students recognized speaks to their commitment to high academic achievement.”
