More than 60 HRA volunteers participate in Lower School Community Garden Day
On Saturday, February 24, Lower School parents, children and faculty gathered on campus for a Lower School Garden Community Day. Mrs. Massengill organized this event hoping that the Lower School community would come together and assist with re-configuring the garden's beds.
More than 60 volunteers participated in turning beds, filling beds with fresh dirt, moving plants and generally cleaning up the Lower School garden for the season ahead. Mrs. Massengill and Mrs. Swain were thrilled by the enthusiastic turnout and vigorous, quick work displayed by the group. Although the estimated time for the project's completion was two hours, the group accomplished the tasks well ahead of schedule leaving plenty of time for lemonade and homemade cookies!
