HRA junior elected District Governor of Capital District Key Clubs

This year’s Capital District’s Key Club Leadership Conference, held in Baltimore in early March, was historic and exciting for Hampton Roads Academy Key Club members.
The conference is held every year and brings together Key Club members from the Capital District which includes Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Key Club International is a high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and electing leadership positions at the club, district and international levels. The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness.

At this year’s annual leadership conference students discussed service, participated in workshops, celebrated members and voted in their new District Officers. HRA senior Breanna White was recognized as a Distinguished Officer at the event.

Hampton Roads Academy Junior Christopher Bratcher, who served as Lieutenant Governor for the past two years, was elected the 2018 - 2019 District Governor for the Capital District, the highest position in the district. His many duties will include working to increase understanding of the organization and functions of the Key Club, attend trainings and conferences throughout the year, represent the district in various events, determine committee goals, publish a monthly newsletter and plan the annual district convention.

Congratulations HRA Key Club!
