Mindfulness Mondays at HRA

Feet on floor. Back on chair.  Slowly inhale through your nose, while counting to 4.  Exhale through your mouth, while counting to 5.  Repeat.
On Mondays in Upper School Homeroom, students and faculty are guided through simple breathing and stretching exercises. Mindfulness Mondays are intended to remind us all that we need to stop and get in touch with the immediate moment. Additional exercises include getting in touch with our senses, gentle neck and shoulder stretches, “face yoga”, and standing stretches.

Students are reminded that these exercises can be a great method for calming oneself before a test, before bedtime, or really anytime. In our fast-paced world, it is important for all of us to take a mindful moment and just be!
