Donor Recognition

While seeing the effects a Hampton Roads Academy donation makes on the lives of students – all donors have to do it walk across the campus and talk with our students – we are also pleased to recognize our donors in the following ways with membership to these groups and giving circles: 

The HRA Heritage Society

The HRA Heritage Society was established to honor generous alumni, parents, grandparents and friends who have created trusts, bequests or other planned gifts to benefit HRA. 

Cumulative Giving Circles

Recognizes donors whose gifts to all campaigns equal or surpass $25,000.
  • Platinum Circle: $500,000 and above
  • Gold Circle: $250,000- $499,999
  • Silver Circle: $100,000-$249,999
  • Bronze: $50,000-$99,000
  • Honors Circle: $25,000-$49,999

Compass Rose Society

Annual Fund Donor Recognition Clubs
  • $5,000 and above: Gift includes membership to the Friends of the Arts and Navigator Club, an invitation to all on campus events, and an invitation to the Headmaster’s Dinner at the home of Lisa and Peter Mertz.
  • Five Star Admiral's Club: $25,000 or more
  • Admiral’s Club: $10,000-$24,999
  • Commodore’s Club: $5,000-$9,999

Headmaster Council

Annual Fund Donor Recognition Clubs
  • $2,500-$4,999: Gift includes membership to Friends of the Arts and Navigators Club.
  • Captain’s Club: $2,500-$4,999

HRA is accredited through the Virginia Association of Independent Schools, a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is a National Blue Ribbon School.
